VIRGINIA BEACH, VA, NOVEMBER 19 - A Virginia federal jury awarded LifeNet Health® $34.7 million in damages on Tuesday for LifeCell® Corp.’s infringement of a LifeNet Health patent related to improving the preservation of tissue grafts, and rejected LifeCell’s assertions that the patent was invalid. LifeNet Health’s patent relates to enabling tissue grafts to be “ready to use” and stored at room temperature while maintaining normal texture and lowering the chance of graft failure.
